Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20) affecting Walton and Washington Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20). * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Big Cedar, Cowford, and Choctawhatchee River Roads begin to flood in Walton County. Flood waters impact storage areas underneath homes on the west banks of the Choctawhatchee River. Low areas along Strickland Road in Washington County become subject to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 13.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 14.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.3 feet on 02/12/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
