Flood Watch issued May 16 at 8:34PM CDT until May 18 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following parishes, Central Tangipahoa, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Eastern Ascension, Eastern Orleans, Iberville, Lower Tangipahoa, Northern Livingston, Northern St. Tammany, Northern Tangipahoa, Pointe Coupee, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Livingston, Southwestern St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, Upper Jefferson, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, Western Ascension and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi, including the following areas, Amite, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison, Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison, Southern Jackson, Walthall and Wilkinson. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. HAZARD...Pea to Half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... New Orleans, Chalmette, Marrero, Harvey, Timberlane, Metairie, Belle Chasse, Jefferson, Gretna, Westwego, Violet, Terrytown, Meraux, Arabi, Poydras, Bridge City, Woodmere, and Estelle. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 229 and 246. Interstate 510 between mile markers 1 and 3. Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM CDT for southeastern Louisiana.

Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... New Orleans, Harvey, Marrero, Timberlane, Belle Chasse, Chalmette, Avondale, Metairie, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Terrytown, Arabi, Woodmere, Bridge City, Estelle, Elmwood, River Ridge and Meraux.
