Special Weather Statement issued July 4 at 9:27PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 926 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Meeker to near downtown Oklahoma City to near El Reno. Movement was southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Oklahoma City, southern Edmond, Moore, Midwest City, Shawnee, Del City, El Reno, Yukon, Bethany, Mustang, Choctaw, Warr Acres, The Village, Tuttle, Piedmont, Harrah, McLoud, Spencer, Nichols Hills, and Jones. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Flood Advisory issued July 4 at 9:27PM CDT until July 5 at 12:30AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Oklahoma, including the following counties, Canadian and Oklahoma. * WHEN...Until 1230 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 927 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oklahoma City, Edmond, Midwest City, Del City, Yukon, Bethany, Mustang, Choctaw, Warr Acres, The Village, Piedmont, Harrah, Spencer, Nichols Hills, Jones, Nicoma Park, Luther, Valley Brook, Arcadia and Tinker Air Force Base. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
